I’m a professional photographer based in Surrey. I love to photograph people, capturing their emotions and their character and the fleeting moments that might otherwise be missed. When photographing a special occasion like an engagement, wedding or party I get the chance to record the happiness, laughter and sometimes the tears that the day brings. I know that being chosen to photograph a wedding is a privilege and a great responsibility.
My approach is very straightforward; the day is all about you. I blend into the background and photograph in an unobtrusive manner and as a bloke who’s 6’5” that’s not always easy!
My love of photography comes from my father who was a very keen amateur photographer. One of my favourite family photos is of me as an 11 year old with my treasured Brownie 127 clasped in my hot little hands which continued to work even after I managed to drop it whilst photographing the family cat on the towpath behind our house in Kew. Dad actively encouraged me to take photos and always praised my early efforts, even saying that one photo of the back garden showed off the washing line to good effect! High praise indeed……
I’ve photographed a huge range of weddings and events – from a surprise 30th birthday party, to an exclusive New Year’s Eve party for a private members’ club. Then there are those in between – product shoots, charity nights, athletes in training and even the odd bus company.
When I’m not taking photographs I like to take my dog Sam out for long walks trying to tire him out – I don’t often succeed. Unfortunately he’s not the easiest subject to photograph unless there’s sausages involved, and even then, his aloof, disdainful stare says “can I go now?”
I really hope you like my photographs. I’ve loved taking them.
